Top Dog - Doug Wilson
Doug is Canadian and has lived in Scotland for the past fourteen years. He is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, one of Canada’s leading business schools. In 1986 he began his career with NCR Financial Systems in Toronto, working through progressively senior sales and product marketing positions. At the age of 28, he was promoted to the post of Global Product Marketing Manager for NCR’s $2bn worldwide ATM business, the corporation’s largest and most profitable product line and one headquartered in Dundee, Scotland. He later became NCR’s UK Director for Massively Parallel Systems for the insurance industry. With uncanny timing, he left the company in 2000 to establish a dot.com a full week before the first big NASDAQ crash, and was subsequently recruited as CEO of an affinity marketing company. In 2003, he co-founded HoundDog and in 2005, completed the Marketing Innovative Technology Program at the Harvard Business School.
Chief Technical Officer - Dr. Alistair Forbes
Alistair holds a Ph.D. in Central Neurones and Synapse Properties and began his career as a research scientist with Sandoz Pharmaceuticals. While supporting the lab’s networks, his passion for computing led him to jump the fence into IT, and he quickly progressed through senior positions with Sandoz, including Head of Clinical R&D Information Systems (Europe), and Head of Technical & Data Architecture. In 1996, he joined Scottish Hydro Electric (later Scottish & Southern Energy), and became Head of Ecommerce & Technology Strategy. In 2001, he joined ADAS Internet Solutions as Chief Technology Officer and helped found HoundDog in 2003.
Finance Director - Dee Ward
Dee Ward graduated from Manchester College, Oxford in 1987 with an Honours Degree in History. In 1989 he founded Chiltern Hills Watercoolers to exploit the growing trend for office watercoolers. Based in the South East of England the company grew steadily and by December 2003 it had over 75 employees. In 2004, Dee received an offer he couldn't refuse, and sold the business to 3i Plc. Dee joined HoundDog in late 2004 bringing with him the operational and financial skills gained in high growth ventures. Dee is married with 4 children and lives in the Angus Glens.
Product Management Director - Colin MacKenzie
Colin graduated BSc (Hons.) from Heriot-Watt University and has spent his career in the IT industry. Following several years as a design engineer for multi-national IT companies, he completed his MBA in 1988 and then joined NCR’s ATM division in Dundee. He led the development of the company’s most successful ATM and became Vice President in 1997, responsible for product development. In 1999, he joined Spinnaker International, a British company specializing in innovative cash-in-transit security solutions, as Managing Director. Spinnaker was subsequently bought out by NCR and Colin continued managing the business development and operations of the division. He joined HoundDog in 2005. Colin is a manic cyclist, competing in time trials on a regular basis, and is married with one daughter.
Chief Mascot - Benny
The face of HoundDog, Benny the 3 year-old pedigree beagle, is a non-stop livewire. As Chief Mascot Benny plays an important role in our branding and promotions and tackles his work with great enthusiasm and a wagging tail. He happily poses for the cameras for hours on end and laps up the attention he gets from the HoundDog team. Benny has over two years experience as an accomplished show dog and is a member of the Scottish Beagle Club. A high achiever, he has won several Championship show classes as well as Best Puppy in Show at the Scottish Beagle Club’s Open Show in 2006. An impressive pooch to say the least!
